Start with the destination, not the document

Almost every question here is really a question about a country. Before anything else we will want to know:

If you already have your FBI report

Do not open a new request. Send us what you have. What matters is whether it is the original FBI-issued file rather than a screenshot or a re-saved copy, because that is what the State Department can authenticate. If the retrieval window has expired, tell us that too.

If you are outside the United States

This is workable, but delivery assumptions that hold domestically do not. What changes.

On timing

The parts that overrun are rarely the FBI stage. They are the apostille workflow, courier time, translation and final delivery — the timeline in full. If you are working to a visa appointment, say the date early.
